As I was heading off to bed last night, I was perusing my Instagram feed and saw a fantastic picture of a gorgeous bride and her smiling groom walking through a cascade of blue and white confetti, surrounded by friends and family. This image represents what I’ve always loved about weddings. June is in full swing here in Chicago, and that means wedding season has officially begun! Here’s a list of my favorite wedding trends.
:|: COLOR PALETTES :|: This year, many wedding palette trends are inspired by Radiant Orchid, the official Color of the Year. As always, this color has been the starting point for some gorgeous color palettes this year. Spring weddings boasted sweet and innocent pastel shades, and summer is shaping up to be bright and colorful with a lovely neutral gray in the mix. Fall and winter will bring some beautiful combinations of bright and muted berries as well. Love!
:|: THE DRESS :|: I am swooning over some of the dresses I have seen this year. My favorite is the mermaid silhouette with lace, beaded details, and delicate cap sleeves.
:|: Hair :|: Braids, waves, and voluminous updos, oh my! This year we’ll see luscious waves, curls and braids paired with flowering garlands, or feather and crystal hair accessories for beautiful looks that range from retro luxe to romantic bohemian.
:|: MAKE UP :|: A good rule of thumb for wedding make up? Three words. Natural, only better. A smoky eye and natural lip is a perfect look that can be tailored just for you. Right now, bridal make up trends feature dramatic winged liner, and natural lips – think nude or pretty pink shades.
:|: Jewelry :|: The icing on the cake for me is always the jewelry and accessories. I love working with stunning crystals and pearls when creating wedding jewelry. To compliment the romantic bohemian looks we’re seeing this year, I’ve created some stunning one-of-a-kind pieces, along with bridal jewelry with a more modern and organic edge. New to the collection this year are my signature hair ties. All the gorgeous braided locks from the last few seasons inspired these unique hair gems. I loved creating these stunning bridal pieces, and I hope you love them too!
