While I love the warmth of gold and rose gold jewelry, over the years I’ve made sure to incorporate a variety of silver into my jewelry collections as well. There are quite a few varieties, and you’ll find more info on the types of silver I use in my jewelry as well as how to best care for it.
La Vie En Rose has been humming in my mind all day, which is a perfect compliment to today’s blog post! I’m continuing this week with part two of my series about the metals I use in my designs. On Monday I shared some information about the type of gold I use in my jewelry, and today I’m going to focus on the type of rose gold you’ll find in my work.
I can hardly believe that I’ve never made a post about this, but I often get the question: What metals are used in Zurina Ketola Designs jewely and how do I care for it?
Earth Day, Every Day
Happy Earth Day! I thought it would be the perfect time to talk a little bit about how I try to bring Earth Day into my every day life and small business. It’s been on my mind lately because my experiences in the area of recycling and sustainability between Germany and the US are so different!
These topics have always been important to me, I love that I’m finally able to live somewhere that has an eco-friendly consciousness built into daily life. I’m also really excited to talk a little bit about how it’s been built into my small jewelry business over the years.
Meant to Be: ZKD Handmade Jewelry Available in Chicago
Exciting news for my Chicago clients with a love for fashion, artisan jewelry, and weekend markets! Before I hopped the pond this summer, a few of you reached out and asked how to purchase ZKD jewelry since my shop would be down during the transition. As I was pondering my options, I was contacted by Luisa, one of my favorite pop-up organizers. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect!
As Luisa told me, “It was meant to be.”
Auf Wiedersehen Galleria
As excited as I am for my upcoming move to Germany, there was one final thing I had to take care of. On June 25th, my Galleria shop will be closing.
I gotta say, this was probably one of the more difficult decisions I had to make. I tried coming up with scenarios to keep things open, but realized I just wouldn’t be able to maintain consistent inventory. I’ve had the most awesome experiences being a vendor at this wonderful spot, and leaving is definitely bittersweet for me.
Goodbye Chicago, Hello Berlin!

Well guess what? It’s finally happening! We’ve moving to Berlin! Continue reading “Zurina Ketola Designs is Moving: Berlin Bound!”
Introducing the New ZKD Client Profile Blog Series!
I feel so lucky to have connected with such incredible and inspiring women with my work and on my travels, and it got me thinking:
Would clients like to be featured here on my blog?
I’ve had the idea kicking around for a while now, and after my last trip out to California, I’ve finally began asking around. To my surprise, a few of my absolute favorite clients welcomed the idea!
